Does the Thorstream work internationally?

Absolutely. We have many expats and customers who live abroad and want to have their American programming. If you are an expat or live abroad and want to watch your American or Canadian programming like the news, shows, movies or your favorite sports team, this product is for you. We have current customers in countries like Mexico, Australia, Canada and most of Europe and Latin America. The same internet speeds are required of course and each country may have certain sites blocked.

Do I need cable for the receiver to work?

​No, all you need is an internet connection of 12mb for SD and 18 mb for HD We recommend speeds of 20 to 30 mbps or higher for streaming live.

Is there a warranty?

Yes, absolutely!  The receiver comes with a 1 year warranty* and real time customer service. Instantly extend your warranty from 9 to 12 months by referring a customer that purchases. Referral must provide your full first and lastname at time of purchase for processing.  You must also register your warranty at www.thorstream.com within 21 days of purchasing.  Warranty includes only the Thorstream set top box and excludes the remote, hdmi cord, and power cord which come with at 21 day warranty.  Registering your warranty is extremely important becuase it validates your warranty and allows us to send you information on how and when to update your software and firmware.

We are now also offering a 2 year extended warranty for all S4 and Thor4 models. Extended warranty will cover All manufacturer defects and disorders beginning the date of puchase. Is there a return policy?

Yes! The receiver comes with a 30 Day 100% Return policy.  The purchaser is responsible for all shipping and handling charges and the return must come back in original packaging as well as include all components that were originally included. This includes the original packaging, the Thorstream unit, hdmi cord, power cord and remote.

 

What all comes with the receiver?

Each receiver comes with the Thorstream Media Player, remote, HDMI cable, and power cord. 

 

How many TV's will the receiver work on?

​Each receiver works with one TV at a time but the unit is so small it can easily be moved into other rooms. You can also easily take it with you anywhere as long as you have internet connection and a TV.

 

What is an OTA?

​OTA stands for over the air.  The OTA or OTA updater allows us to update your Thorstream Media Player remotely. We have two types. One is an Auto-Update, when you turn on your unit, it will prompt a message to wait while it is uploading the new firmware or software.  This is usually for minor updates. When we have a large update you will get a message on our  live support chat that we have a new OTA update available.  If you get this message simply go to OTA or OTA Updater and follow the instructions to download and Install.
